Left-Handers'

Toy of the

Year Award

Once a year, on International Left-Handers Day, 13 August, our jury will make an annual award for the Left-Handers' Toy of the year.

The toy should be suitable for both left-handed and right-handed children. In the toy there could be parts to turn or flaps to open or manipulate but they must not disadvantage either left-handed or right-handed children. For toys with an asymmetric design, it should be possible to change or modify them easily for use by right or left-handers.

Anyone can send in an entry including parents, playgrounds and schools.

The next closing date for entries for the fifth award is 1 May 2006.

The manufacturer of the winning entry/entries will receive a certificate and an approval label for use on the product.

The winning toy 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 will be displayed afterwards on our website.

  • Give us your support and send in your entries.
  • Give brief written reasons why you think the toy deserves the award with your entry.
  • Please make sure you send in the name and address of the toy manufacturer.

Please send your entries by post to:
