Left-Handers'  Toy of the Year Award

Once a year, on International Left-Handers Day, 13 August, our jury will make an annual award for the Left-Handers' Toy of the year.

The toy should be suitable for both left-handed and right-handed children. In the toy there could be parts to turn or flaps to open or manipulate but they must not disadvantage either left-handed or right-handed children. For toys with an asymmetric design, it should be possible to change or modify them easily for use by right or left-handers.

Anyone can send in an entry including parents, playgrounds and schools.

The next closing date for entries for the fifth award is 1 May 2006.

The manufacturer of the winning entry/entries will receive a certificate and an approval label for use on the product.

The winning toy 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 will be displayed afterwards on our website.
 
 

Give us your support and send in your entries. Give brief written reasons why you think the toy deserves the award with your entry. Please make sure you send in the name and address of the toy manufacturer.

Almuth Vasterling: Ergotherapeutin, Left-Hander Advisor using the Sattler methodology, Celle.
